EGILDA WRAP

EGILDA WRAP

$7.00Price

A classic rectangular wrap (named for my mother), it’s large but airy with an expansive and highly geometric lace pattern and decorative edging. This design is the perfect backdrop to incorporate a subtle fade of colors and lightly speckled yarn. It is designed to work with three colors, two skeins of the outside colors, and one in the middle, fading through them from edge to center and back. You can also substitute five colors.

  • DIMENSIONS

The pattern is adjustable by removing repeats of the PARQUET LACE PATTERN to make it narrower, wider, or shorter. The pattern dimensions block to 84” long by 30” wide.

  • GAUGE

21 stitches and 32 rows for 4” (10cm) in stockinette, lightly blocked

Gauge is not crucial for this project, but variations will affect yardage and final measurements.

  • YARN

This project is also perfect for five special skeins of speckled fingering weight yarn that blend together, but any combination of colors that flows together from one to the other and back will work. You will need approximately 2000 yards of fingering weight yarn at approximately 3.5 yards per gram.

    The sample was knit with:

Emma’s Yarn Practically Perfect Sock in the Inlay colorway, 2 skeins, 80% superwash merino, 20% nylon; 400 yards per skein

La Bien Aimee Merino Twist Sock in the Aimee’s Birthday colorway, 2 skeins, 80% superwash merino, 20% nylon; 400 yards per skein

Baah La Jolla in Sunkissed Apricot colorway, one skin, 100% superwash merino, 400 yards

  • NEEDLES

US 6 (4mm) circular neeedle with a 32” (80cm) long cable, or size required to obtain gauge
